Can you recall the countless times we have stood stagnant when we try to assess our life. The assessment revolves around our past, present or future. Uncertainty and fear usually around the future. You tend to do this when your present is, say, not what you want it to be. You ponder over all the unnecessary details in a fruitless mission to seek life answers. You know you are kidding yourself!
We as human beings are capable of reliving memories and thoughts in a vivid manner. The embarassing or cruciating the memories, the more clearer is that imagination. At the end of each regeneration of an unpleasant memory or maybe a distressful present situation, you simply wish you could either change it or wish the present was not how it is unfolding. You start pondering over how things are not the way you expected it to be. It more often happens over things that are not under your control. In spite of knowing that you cannot alter the past, you cannot stop yourself from wondering over countless possibilities of ‘what if.’ Now say, you have come to terms with the fact that past is what it was and that remains unchangeable, but how strongly are you able to not fantasize over an alternate present or a future? I think I am leading you to a time-machine concept.. Alright, let’s step out of that thought wagon.
In extremely plain words, haven’t we wished for things to be differently at the moment; asking, ‘why me?’ You may even go to an extent of relating how our good conduct and qualities should not have ended up in a place where we are currently at. Misfortunes and disappointments lead you to believe that there is no other way out of this but to lead it. While it’s true that not everything can be changed, but there is something that you need to accept. If certain things are not going right, it surely will in the near future. If we can somehow make ourselves believe that everything (if not everything, at least most of the things) that has happened has happened for a reason: a reason to journey you through phases of life that may not be comprehended at present but will surely guide you through future, you will find yourself at a certain balance in life. We need to somehow find our inner strength to believe that things will work out eventually and to get there we need to show patience and wait for a fruitful return for the efforts we put in.
It’s not our fault to think in ways that we do. Though our thoughts are under our control, it’s impossible to have only happy and peaceful thoughts all the time. As long as you are able to stop yourself from completely immersing yourself in a non-realistic world of ‘what if’ or why me’ , thoughts, you are absolutely fine, my friend… Learn to pull yourself together and always believe that things will work out eventually.
