The word ‘brownie’ springs forth leaps and bounds of happiness in many. There are ones who salivate at the very thought of it. See them on displays and, boy oh boy, do they look pretty and irresistible. But, to me it seemed like a hard piece of cake. Extremely boring, nothing creative, seemed like one of those non-potential work of art. Or so I believed.. Until ‘Brownie Heaven’ happened.
I was amazed on knowing that there’s a tiny restaurant dedicated for brownies. Apart from offering different kinds of brownies, they have fancy desserts made with brownies! ‘Brownie Heaven,’ is a small food outlet with limited seating that offers these fancy treats. Their menu card is in the form of a comprehensive catalogue (resonating with a car catalogue that you pick up from a showroom) with each page showcasing a particular type of brownie dessert. Each dessert is accompanied by a glamorous, drool-worthy picture with its ingredients to help you understand what exactly is to be expected. This is one of the best features of this place and this is where you are completely lost flipping through the pages, trying to decide which one would fit my craving for the day. After careful selection, I patiently wait for the ‘chosen one’ to arrive.
The wait was not tiresome, probably due to my weekday afternoon visit, and the order looked extremely pretty. You get exactly what you select and there was no form of expectation mis-match. Two desserts arrived :Brownie Parfait and Brownie Tiramisu. Brownie Parfait consists of a brownie with ice cream, pudding, toffee and chocolate sauce. This came in a curved sundae glass. Brownie Tiramisu contains brownie, cookie bits, chocolate shavings, coffee mascarpone cream and ice cream. This was intricately arranged and served on a plate. The creativity and presentation was top notch and it was tricky to wait for the photo session before I could dive in.
The taste was as pleasing as the visuals. A good creative dessert with all its interesting ingredients in a perfectly synced manner. I would call this a complete customer focussed (I had to bring a corporate term, how boring) dessert to ensure you will not complain of its portion, taste or presentation. Infact, one dessert fills two people unless you are a sweet monster, who loves to gorge on sweet huge portions of desserts. If so, then a single dessert will definitely satiate your craving. This place widened my perspective on brownies. Never had I imagined a boring little brownie to be creatively spun. I appreciate and wonder how something small can be capable of creating such wonders. A ‘heaven’ of sorts for the brownie lovers out there!
